Honest Network & Coverage Transparency
Claro network, 4G
The Costa Rica plans run on Claro at 4G/LTE speeds. We sell 1 GB and 3 GB plans for now, the sizes we can offer at a fair price.
What your phone will show
At the top of your screen you'll see Claro, not RoamClean. That's normal. You can name the line "RoamClean" in your phone's settings.
Your IP appears in the US
Traffic on the Costa Rica plans exits in the United States, so websites see a US IP address.
Frequently asked questions
Direct answers. No hidden gotchas.
The days start counting when your phone first connects to Claro in Costa Rica, not when you buy or install. Install it at home on Wi-Fi before you fly; that uses none of your days or data. Start using it within 180 days of purchase.
No. Every RoamClean plan is data only, with no phone number. WhatsApp, iMessage, FaceTime and other internet apps work over data. Keep your home line switched on for normal texts and bank codes. How to keep your home number on
Yes. Hotspot (tethering) is allowed on every Costa Rica plan. Anything your laptop or tablet uses counts toward the same data allowance.
Your data travels through our partner's internet gateway in the United States, so that's where your IP address appears. Maps, messaging and browsing work normally. Some streaming or banking apps may show content for that country or ask you to confirm it's you.
If your eSIM was never installed, you get a full refund to your card, anytime within 180 days of purchase. If it's installed but won't connect in Costa Rica, reply to your order email and a person will help; if it can't be fixed, you get your money back on your card. Read the refund policy
