Best eSIM for Canada (2026)
Competitor prices checked on each provider's own site, October 4, 2026. Last verified October 4, 2026.
RoamClean sells Canada eSIMs, and our plan is in this comparison. No provider paid to be here, and none of the links earn us anything. We rank by the criteria below, and where another provider is the better buy, we say so.
The short answer
- Check first
- Many US plans already include Canada: T-Mobile Experience More and Beyond, AT&T's unlimited 2.0 plans, Verizon myPlan and Google Fi Unlimited and Flexible (checked Oct 4).
- Lowest price per GB
- Esimul: 5 GB for $8.27 (Oct 4) and 10 GB for $13.37 (Oct 4). It's the only store we found that's cheaper than ours. We haven't used it.
- Cheapest of Airalo, Saily and Nomad
- RoamClean: 5 GB for $11.49 and 10 GB for $16.99, on Rogers. Nomad's 10 GB is $17.00 on sale (Oct 4).
- Unlimited data
- Ubigi costs least for 15 days, at $39.00 (Oct 4). Nomad sells 10 days for $35.00 (Oct 4).
- A Canadian phone number
- A local prepaid line. Chatr lists 5 GB for CA$25.00 a month ≈ $17.55 (Oct 4), at its Ontario price; Lucky Mobile lists 4 GB for CA$25.00 a month ≈ $17.55 (Oct 4).

How we compared
Price per GB at 5 GB and 10 GB, using each provider's plan closest to 30 days, read on its own website. Next to price we list what each seller's own pages say about the network, the refund rule, when the days start, the currency prices are shown in and phone numbers, plus its unlimited plans with any daily limit it states. Every competitor entry shows the date we read it; prices change, so check before you buy. We did not speed-test any eSIM, so this guide makes no speed claims, and we gave no star ratings.
How they compare
Two tables of the same kind: the brands most US travelers know, then low-cost sellers. Our plans are in both, cheapest per GB first. Scroll sideways on a phone to see every column.
Aheadmarks a RoamClean cell that beats every other seller in that table on that point. Ties aren't marked.

Do you need a Canada eSIM if you're from the US?
Often not. Check your plan before you buy anything, including ours.
T-Mobile Experience Beyond includes 30 GB of high-speed data in Canada and Experience More 15 GB, then up to 256 kbps. AT&T's unlimited 2.0 plans include Canada, though AT&T says roaming may run at 2G speeds. Verizon myPlan includes 2 GB a day at high speed, then 3G. Google Fi includes Canada on Unlimited Standard, Unlimited Premium and Flexible. All checked on the carriers' pages on Oct 4, 2026.
Without those, Verizon TravelPass costs $6 a day in Canada: a week is $42, more than any 10 GB plan in our tables.
Which Canada eSIM is cheapest per GB?
Esimul is cheapest at both 5 GB and 10 GB. RoamClean comes 2nd of 7 at 5 GB and 2nd of 8 at 10 GB.
At 5 GB, Nomad is next after us at $13.00 (Oct 4), then Manet €13.20 ≈ $14.82 (Oct 4), Saily $17.99 (Oct 4) and Airalo $18.00 (Oct 4). Stixrs sells 5 GB for 15 days at $17.50 (Oct 4).
At 10 GB the gap is small: Nomad charges $17.00 on sale (Oct 4) against our $16.99, then Stixrs $18.00 (Oct 4) and Ubigi $19.00 (Oct 4). Saily's 10 GB costs $30.99 (Oct 4).
Which network does each one use?
Each page names a different one, and some name none.
RoamClean uses Rogers. Nomad's page names Rogers and Freedom Mobile, Stixrs names Rogers, Bell, Telus and SaskTel, Airalo names Bell and Holafly Bell and Telus. Ubigi's plan page names Bell, Freedom, SaskTel, Telus and Videotron. Saily, Esimul and Manet don't name a network on the pages we read.
Rogers is Canada's largest wireless provider, with about 12.2 million mobile phone subscribers at the end of 2025 (its annual information form). No network covers everything: Parks Canada says there's no year-round cell coverage on the Icefields Parkway between Lake Louise and Jasper.
What about a trip to the US and Canada?
Our Canada plan works only in Canada.
If you'll be in the US too and your phone plan isn't from the US, our North America plan covers the US, Canada and Mexico on one eSIM, from $5.99. We didn't compare other sellers' North America plans in this guide.
What if you need a Canadian phone number?
Then a local prepaid line is the better buy, not a travel eSIM.
Chatr, on the Rogers network, lists 5 GB a month with unlimited Canada-wide calling for CA$25.00 a month ≈ $17.55 (Oct 4); its prices are shown for Ontario. Lucky Mobile lists 4 GB a month with talk and text for CA$25.00 a month ≈ $17.55 (Oct 4). Both are monthly plans.
If you only need some minutes and texts, Airalo sells 5 GB with 50 minutes and 50 texts for 30 days at $24.00 (Oct 4). RoamClean plans are data only.

Questions about Canada eSIMs
Which SIM is best for tourists visiting Canada?
It depends on what you need. For a Canadian number with calls, a prepaid line from Chatr or Lucky Mobile. For data only, a travel eSIM costs less per GB and can be installed before you fly. If your US plan includes Canada, neither.
Will a Canada eSIM work on an Alaska cruise stop?
Ours won't: the Canada plan works only in Canada, and Alaska is in the US. Our North America plan covers both countries. Check any other seller's Canada plan for the same limit before you buy. North America plans
When do the days start on a Canada eSIM?
Ours start when the eSIM first connects in Canada. Nomad's page says its plan starts when it connects, or on its own 60 days after purchase. Saily's says it activates automatically when you arrive. Airalo's help page says most of its eSIMs start when they connect at the destination, and some when they're installed.
Can I share data with my laptop in Canada?
On ours, yes: hotspot is allowed and counts toward your data. Nomad's page also says yes, and Holafly's allows sharing 1 GB a day. The other pages we read don't say, so ask before you buy if you need it.
