Help · Install and arrive
When do my plan's days start?
Not when you buy and not when you install. Your days start the first time the eSIM connects to a network in a country your plan covers.
The short version
Install anytime before the deadline
Install within 180 days of purchase, or 30 days for a day pass. Each plan card shows its window, and your order page shows the date.
Installing doesn't start your days
They start the first time the eSIM connects to a network in a country your plan covers. On a day pass, each day runs 24 hours from that first connection.
“No Service” at home is normal
A plan for another country shows No Service at home, because it has no network to join there. That's expected and uses no days or data.
Installing ends the refund option
Refunds are for eSIMs that were never installed, within 30 days of purchase. How refunds work.
Tip: install early, keep the line off
The line can't start your days while it's off.

Plans that cover your home country
A plan that also works where you live can connect at home and start the clock if the line is on. For US residents, that's our USA and North America plans. Keep the line off until the trip.
Near a border
Close to a border, your phone can connect to the other country's network. If your plan covers that country, that connection starts your days, even before you cross. Keep the line off until you're there.
Every plan we sell
All of them start at the first connection. Checked against our network partner's catalog.
